Personally...I kinda thought it was lame that Nara got taken out so fast by whatshername in the black.  I wanted to see her kick some ass instead of just playing the damsel in distress.

Nara's my heroine.

Isn't it obvious she's faking it?; 'too much poison?' Hah! I don't think so. Nara's in total control of every situation, so much so that she can afford to give the appearance of being weak: it puts everyone at their ease. Not to mention giving Perf the opportunities he needs to become the hero she recognises he can be (and, for a brief second, almost was as he squared up to whatsername in the black).

Just you watch, Nara IS the chosen one really: her destiny will unfold in ways you can't even imagine possibly dreaming of foreseeing...

No, wait, that's just a dead bug on my cracked crystal ball. My bad.

[PS If Nara hadn't fallen I wouldn't be trying to find a Kicked Wings t-shirt.]

Some off the top thoughts about what would be fun (for me mind you) and some ideas that are less fun but interesting (again for me).  With some actual time to think I am sure that I could come up with vastly better ideas.

1) More Glorian solving classic D&D puzzles/challenges with his general strategy of ‘bash it until it dies or breaks’

2) I understand that the sword of fighting is a cursed sword but the property of this is less clear to non-fantasy fans.  A bit where Perf describes what are the normal properties of a standard cursed sword (perhaps in an attempt to impress Nara with his smarts) & how to get rid of one (with a comic reference to the zombie-cleric now lacking the spell-casting ability-if that is true)

3) Letting the viewer know how many other types of non-human races there are (we know of elves, gargoyles,  and orcs (possible two branches on separate continents exist not counting the modern orc splitters), and there is a clue that dwarfs exist due to a reference in the online orc-speech guide but that is all-- I think)

4) Along the same lines would be more about the various kingdoms & political entities in Fartherall.  Again, based on hints in online description of atrocity knives, we know that there are border kingdoms (not under direct control of the ‘wicked kings’ I think), nomad orcs, modern orcs (in own kingdoms or in others?), and some kingdom controlled by wicked kings.

5) Some references/descriptions to the previous year’s travel and what happened there.  Not the orc killing but how/why the Carrow & Perf (and Carrow and Nara) became friends.   I think that they are friends before the events of episode one starts the downfall of the party.

6) Oh, I can think of many (potentially funny—ha ha, in my head anyway) scenes but I would not know how to include them in the already-written story:

Obviously at some point, dress Perf up in drag (more so than he is currently, I mean) is a given and if this can be blended with attempts to disguise a rotting Carrow as a normal human (dealing with smell, visual decay etc.) that could be amusing.  Perhaps pretending to be a husband and wife.

Such as one where the alive party members are all knocked into negative hitpoints (errr, close to death) while in the presence of a someone who does not know about zombie-Carrow & the zombie cleric rescues them instead of eating them.

Or in an attempt to kill Perf, the sword of Fighting keeps appearing in Perf’s hand during a tense situation (peace negations with orcs, talking to a police figure, etc).

Nara’s archery should allow for some comedy at some point with her shooting someone in an embarrassing place either by accident or by choice

Carrow interacting with other undead & being shunned for being ‘unnatural’ by them as he is an impossible type of undead.  Should feed his rage towards Perf nicely.

Ok, I better stop.

Why stop when you're on a roll?

Thanks, but I have a happy feeling that the actual script will be much more fun then my quick thoughts!

Besides I am trying to learn how to use a video editor (and failing, failing hard so far), so I can play with all the lovely footage from season one.  I am very pleased I managed to extract the whole file into .iso and burn that onto a disk at least.  If that plays in my DVD I will be thrilled.  If not, well 'Onwards!'  as someone might say.

ONWARD!* -> http://shop.strowlers.biz/products/dvds/journeyquest-season-1/ ;)

* (always with the shouting)

What video editor are you trying to use?
I would be interested in finding out something of the back story. How did such an ill matched group get together? Going even farther back, how did each character end up acting the way they do? Was it just a "role of the dice" or were specific attributes cultivated to achieve some, as yet unknown, ultimate goal?

Not Serious but

They say niche is the key to all web series so what about more niche directed versions on your content:

There is a serious lack of Jewish fantasy. Something that speaks to the Jewish experience (with the exception of the token Hin-Jew on a popular series) and yet has swords. Just throw in some Hebrew and you have: JourneyKvetch "Oivey, I fell on my keys."
Or

Medical dramas are a staple on TV, people must like them right? So throw in something topical, not like an ointment, more like due to the current economic blah blah or in  Tea Party district  funding for the hospital gets seriously cut, equipment is scarce but crime is up and there are always patients coming in: GurneyQuest
Or

What about your intrepid bard, shunned by her peers, So what if she takes matters into her own delicate, lute playing hands and decides to the hells with the grand tennant and just ask the party what what inquesting minds want to know: "Perf, will you finally just tell her how you feel? Sword, is that calfskin wrapping on your hilt?" Or maybe she thinks they aren't fit for this quest takes the sword to complete the quest herself: Wrenegade!

And of course: Grellnocked Up

'... she thinks they aren't fit for this quest takes the sword to complete the quest herself: Wrenegade!'

Love it :)

(vegetables snipped)

No way...Nara has repeatedly shown what she is capable off, like when she threw that atrocity knife into the back of the fleeing orc immediately after being freed by Perth. Talk about quick thinking and action!

The scene where she was drugged by the assassins dart, allowed us to see some things we otherwise would not have.

"Perth you took my future...that's ok, I wasn't using it anyway".

She cried when Perth ran away...again, this time from the assassin. Why was she so upset at his leaving?

It gave us a glimpse into her feelings about Perth...but she was drugged, so maybe it was only the toxin speaking?

JourneyQuest has some seriously awesome and brilliant story writing going on...ONWARD!!!

I wish the "I Like Myself" song from the extras was in the movie!  o)
