What do you like? What's terrible? Where do we need to update our design?

If something's on your mind, please let us know!

Update:

We are stopping development on the beta site so that we can focus on getting the big revision ready to go. For the webdev nerds out there, here's what's on the docket. (And yes, if you have the right skill set, we'd welcome some help.)

  • Moving to Wordpress Multisite to enable shared user accounts across the ZOE network [DONE]
  • Will be importing all beta site content via a JSON file [TESTING SOLUTIONS]
  • Adding wikis, subscription levels, kickstarter-style campaigns, and Buddypress/bbforum implementation [DONE]
  • Dynamic HTML5 content based on the LESS framework, for compatibility across web and mobile devices [DONE]
  • Complete rewrite of video episode player for mobile compatibility, auto-updated playlists, and integration with site content [IN PROGRESS]
  • CMS for show/cast/director listings [IN PROGRESS]
  • Integration with new Fan Supported store, including digital downloads via S3 [In PROGRESS]
  • Total graphical overhaul [TO DO]

Well, after the site was updated I noticed the chat box wasn't on the front page any longer, which just makes me think many people will not realize it, despite being on the bottom of the screen.

Other than that I, personally, think it is all good so far.

Think it's worth putting the chat box back in the middle? We weren't sure how important it would be as a feature.
I think that would work, but maybe to get a second opinion from someone else.
There is likely an issue with the javascript based visual elements. On Android 3.1 I'm seeing a few issues with elements that support hover functionality as well as rich edit elements. I'll work with Ben to see what our options are in terms of ripping through this. It may be easier to backport groups into the mobile version, honestly... and that would be preferable. I'm meeting with him tonight and we'll talk about it.
I think that would be really cool too
We'll likely add that at about the same time we implement video chat.

Thanks for the input! Could you do me a favor and try Opera Mobile and Firefox Mobile as well if you get a chance? I don't have access to a Galaxy. I think Firefox is still in Beta, but you can get it here: http://blog.mozilla.com/blog/2010/10/07/firefox-4-beta-for-android-... if it doesn't show up on the market for you. SkyFire has given me problems on other sites as well, though it took off when it started doing live flash conversion so a lot of people use it. What about the default webkit browser in Froyo? Does it give you problems as well? That's where I'm seeing the majority of my hover problems. Thanks again for your help!

Wow, excellent and thorough! We have a message in to the engine provider, but Mobile is a hard sell. So the request to have everything available in the actual mobile view is  much more likely to get traction. I will be looking at the javascript this weekend and seeing just how portable it is to the mobile skinned view.
'chat box'?

'Scooz me for being a newb, but I don't know which site it is that you're asking for input on.

http://www.zombieorpheus.com ?

http://www.zombieorpheus.com/forum/ ?

http://www.journey-quest.com ? <- the site I thought I was on, but now I see I'm not...

Menu dropdowns on 'shows', 'producers' and 'about' are rendered (for me, on Firefox 5.0) as black text on white background. This works.

But the dropdown on 'community' is white text on blue. Odd that it's different: maybe there's a good reason for it, but what's bad (IMO) is that the blue is transparent, making the menu sub-options harder to read than they need be. (My tuppence says that when the user chooses to view menu options, these should not have to fight with other content for the reader's attention.)

Ah. Found the chat box. Said something on it, but can only 'hear' myself 'talking.'

No biggie; I'm used to being ignored ;) Just thought I'd mention in case it's a bug.
